Lloret de Mar’s Water Park – Water World, is undergoing a three million euros investment in its development and modernization. “The expansion plan of the park includes several new rides and one big water sliding-slope consisting of six bands, as well as a new area which will focus entirely on children and families” – says the director of the Park Julià López-Arenas. These changes are expected to appear this summer, and they will create 15 additional job places.
For children, Lloret de Mar Water Park is building a new zone called «Kids Water World», which will include three areas with different water heights. Each ride will be made suitable for children under the age of 6 years-old, as well as parents with children. New areas are not going to be only visually appealing, but will also include the latest technologies aimed at children playing with water. In all three areas will be installed water cannons, geysers, water dispensers and other decorative items. All areas are interconnected via waterways, and due to the difference in heights, it will be a fast and fun way to navigate from one area to another.
Other attractions will be placed on the top of the water park. One of them, called Hurricaine, will consist of four water slides of varying heights (see the picture below). The descent will take place in tubes. A part of the descent distance goes through a dark tunnel, where a fast acceleration is experienced by participants which will certainly cause a storm of emotions.
The second attraction, soon to be available in the Lloret de Mar water park, is a tower with two suicidal tracks to be called Speed Furious. The free fall descent will take place in a special capsule. The fall will be spectacular and magical. According to Julia Lopez-Arenas, this ride will not leave anyone impartial.
In addition to these water attractions, which are aimed primarily at teenagers and adults, another attraction is being built that looks like a large hill consisting of six bands. This ride is intended for all age audiences whose height is not smaller than 80 cm. At the finish, electronic lights will determine the winner, who was first to cross the finish line.
