Four Lloret de Mar Beaches (Lloret, Fenals, Cala Boadella, Santa Cristina) were awarded the Blue Flag by the Association for Environmental Education and Consumer Protection (ADEAC).
The beach Blue Flag is a high standard indicator of water quality, service, beach infrastructure, and environmental conditions of the surrounding areas. The high quality of the beaches in Lloret de Mar contributes to the development of tourism in the city and along the coast.
Despite the difficult economic situation all throughout Spain, the city administration decided not to cut the budget of servicing and maintaining the beaches, but rather increase it, which would furthermore escalate the already high quality of Lloret de Mar’s beaches. In particular, this applies to the beaches of Lloret and Fenals. Moreover, the number of blue flags speaks for itself, four of the five main beaches in Lloret de Mar have been awarded this year.
The City Council of Lloret de Mar intends to maintain the quality of the beaches on a high international level for years to come.
